Dutch Collage Artist Tim Roeloffs has been photographing Berlin streets since 1992 making collage works which recreate Berlin as a spectacular world of wonder.

Soon after settling in Berlin in 1992 he joined the Kunstinitiative of the Kunsthauses Tacheles. At first, he shot mainly black and white images, which he had pulled off on ORWO paper, which gave the images a slight yellowish hue. Beginning in 1994, Roeloffs began to experiment with photomontages. The use of cardboard allowed him the three-dimensionality of his work. For his work he now uses not only his own photos, but also pictures from magazines and newspapers. As a tool, he uses only a pair of scissors, a cutting tool and an adhesive.

In the autumn of 2008, Roeloffs, together with Versace, made a collection based on his compositions inspired by Berlin life. They were presented on the international catwalk in Milan. In the same year, Klaus Wowereit, then mayor of Berlin, appointed Tim Roeloffs as Cultural Ambassador.
